How it works

A student studies. A lawyer decides.

The weeks are education. A real enquiry is screened, and an advocate remains responsible. The network does not advertise guaranteed work, and it does not pay for introductions.

  1. 01The clientDescribes a problem and consents to a preliminary consultation.
  2. 02The platformScreens the matter. A number is issued, such as YLA-MATTER-2026-000145.
  3. 03A student or juniorMay help with facts, research, or a draft. They do not advise.
  4. 04The supervising lawyerReviews the work, guides the consultation, and decides what happens next.
  5. 05Further actionFollow-up, a responsible referral, or closure. Nothing is guaranteed.

What a student does

  1. 01Register and complete a learning profile. Say whether you are in LL.B. or LL.M., and which year.
  2. 02Open the twelve weeks. Read the note, watch the briefing, and do the exercise.
  3. 03Submit drafting and research practice. Feedback, where given, is educational.
  4. 04Join a college page or apply as a campus ambassador. That is a student network, not a client list.
  5. 05Touch a real enquiry only if an advocate assigns it. You still do not advise.

When there is a real enquiry

  1. New
  2. Screening
  3. Eligible
  4. Assigned
  5. Under review
  6. Consultation
  7. Follow-up
  8. Referred
  9. Closed

Students and juniors cannot mark a consultation, negotiate a fee, or hold themselves out as the advocate on the matter. External notes use the matter room, not a private WhatsApp thread as the record.
